The Benevolence Ministry of First Baptist Church is conducted through The BABBCENTER. The mission of the Benevolence Ministry is to provide crisis intervention information and financial aid, where appropriate, to members and active attendees. The Benevolence Ministry also provides financial support to the Hendersonville Samaritan Association for assistance to others living in the 37075 zip code area.
Handyman Ministry
This ministry is for individuals who need repairs done around the house who are either physically and/or financially unable to provide for the repairs Requests for assistance may be made by calling The BABBCENTER at 824.3772. The Handyman Ministry Coordinator will respond by completing an assessment of the need and determine if it can be undertaken by the ministry team.
Financial Management Course
Certain individuals who request benevolence financial assistance from the church will be required to participate in a three session financial management course to support the financial assistance that is being provided by the church.
Day Camp Scholarships
Individuals and families may request scholarship assistance for children who wish to participate in the First Baptist Church Day Camp Program. Applications may be obtained at The BABBCENTER and should be completed and turned in at The BABBCENTER by May 1 of each year. Scholarships are based on financial need and will be granted following a face-to-face interview.
Automobile Donations
Automobiles may be donated to the church for individuals who need transportation. Automobiles may also be donated to the church, and the money obtained from auctioning the automobile will be placed in the designated benevolence account for use in assisting First Baptist Church families.
Financial Assistance
To request benevolence assistance, complete the green benevolence request form which can be obtained at The BABBCENTER. The chairman of the Benevolence Committee will contact you and begin the process of determining approval or disapproval of your request.
